"Operation Hope Tote" 2010

Did you get up this morning and take a nice hot shower with plenty of shaving cream, a razor, shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner? Did you have deodorant, a toothbrush and toothpaste and powder? Did you even think about not having these basic items?

For the homeless and those living in crisis these are “luxury” items. When you are struggling to put food on the table to feed your children or pay the rent and utilities, some of the basics aren’t in the budget.

Hope Tote's can make Difference - by providing basic personal care items.  We need personal care items for all ages—adults, as well as, infants and children.  So next time you step into the shower or wash your hands, or bathe your baby, think of those less fortunate.

hope_tote_2008-3"Operation Hope Tote" is our annual Easter campaign. Each January schools, churches, businesses and individuals fill Hope Tote bags with NEW toiletry items: socks, T-shirts & underwear, individually wrapped toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap/body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lip balm, brush/comb, tissues, hand/body lotion, body powder, disposable razors, and shaving cream. We need family size, regular size and sample size/hotel sized items.

Filled Hope Tote bags should be returned to the Mission by March 31st.  The filled bags are then distributed to those in need via our Operation “Son”shine community outreach van.

To pick up empty Hope Tote bags or receive further information please call Julie at 413.732.0808 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
