Our Commitment to Your Privacy

We receive information from our supporters and visitors in various ways. Below are guidelines that the Springfield Rescue Mission adheres to in maintaining the highest level of security possible, protecting the information entrusted to us.

Overview

The Springfield Rescue Mission has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our Mission's commitment to your privacy. In using our site, we want to provide a safe, secure experience. We will do our best to ensure that the information you submit remains private. Because we receive many types of information from our users, we feel you should fully understand our policy and the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

Information Received

We receive credit card information from our supporters to process donations. We do not keep credit card information after contributions are processed, except in cases of recurring contributions. We use a secure credit card processing company to process contributions. Neither the Springfield Rescue Mission nor this credit card processing company retain, shares, stores, or uses personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Transacting online with the Springfield Rescue Mission will not open your credit card information to dissemination. The Springfield Rescue Mission does not disclose, sell, trade, rent or otherwise reveal our supporters' credit card information to third parties, including advertisers or marketers. This information is only used to process the transaction.

When visitors donate online, we retain names, addresses, phone numbers and email information to send gift acknowledgements and to continue relationships with our supporters. This information is stored offsite with a secure donor management company.

When visitors supply personal information in applications or requests, we collect and use personal information only to the extent necessary to process the application or respond to the request.

When our supporters respond to surveys, any personally identifiable information that could be linked to the survey is kept strictly confidential.

We never sell, rent or exchange our supporters', applicants', or survey respondents' personal information without their express consent.

The Springfield Rescue Mission collects only aggregate data about web site visitors from web server traffic reports. These reports provide data that shows how long visitors stay on the site and which pages are visited most without identifying individual users. By collecting this information, we are able to develop and maintain our web site so that it will be most helpful to users.

Children

The Springfield Rescue Mission and its informational materials do not actively market to children. Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Opting Out and Corrections

When visitors supply us with contact information, they may receive periodic contacts from us with a thank you call or news about upcoming events. If supporters wish to receive only certain mailings, or do not wish to receive any correspondence at all, or if any personal information needs to be corrected, please let us know by contacting us via the methods described below. We will ensure that all requests are honored in a timely fashion.
